Some guy programmed his HP Deskjet printer to play music. They don't have speakers, he is making use of the noise the hardware itself makes as it goes about its duties. Whats even funnier is the read down in the comments as the old timers gather to tell their stories of using hardware for purposes that were never intended.

Since 1985, in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China an amazing festival is held annually. Known as Harbin Snow and Ice Festival, it is China’s original and greatest ice artwork festival, and one of the largest of its kind in the world.

Over this past weekend this programmer decided to try his hand at ray tracing. He documented his progress, and in less than two days wrote a pretty amazing little program. The source code is available, and he plans on adding to the project in the future. I've compiled the program and am currently generating a 5000x5000 image that I will post in the comments later. I can't wait to see this schwaze program mature!
